Development
The foundation of NEW HEART was an international urban design competition that served as the basis for the subsequent development plan procedure. The competition was organized in accordance with the German Guidelines for Planning Competitions 2013 (RPW 2013), Section 3 paragraphs 1, 3, 4, and 5, as a non-open, two-phase design competition. The first phase was conducted anonymously, while the second phase followed a collaborative planning approach.
29 March 2023:
Jury session, Phase 1. Four proposals were selected for further development.
29 August 2023:
Public participation process, Phase 2.
30 August 2023:
Jury session, Phase 2. The design by UNS Amsterdam was unanimously awarded first prize.
8–10 September 2023
Public exhibition of the competition results.
